We, at The Blackthorn are delighted to offer more great fun and entertainment as we begin the run to Summer.
AGGIES KITCHEN is now open for bookings , with breakfast & dinner available. Now Open Fridays 9am - 4pm, Saturdays 9am - 9pm, Sundays 9am - 6pm and Mondays from 9am till 6pm serving the tasty home cooked breakfast, brunch and lunch with a delicious barista coffee. We are delighted to be working with Tullamore meats to provide high quality meals locally sourced using the freshest ingredients.
Now also taking bookings for all parties and nights out, for more info check out our party page.

Aggies Kitchen now open
Since opening our doors again in late July 2021 we have had a tremendous response from customers. We would like to sincerely thank everyone so far for your kindness and generosity. Over the next couple of months we aim to extend our services and increase the options available to you.
Aggies kitchen has been a great success and at the moment everything is running very well, this will increase over the next few weeks and become more readily available.
"A family run business that spans a period of over 25 years. The Blackthorn is our third child that embodies friendship, high quality service accompanied by a really welcoming atmosphere. Aggie and I started out on our journey in the late 90’s and together we have witnessed many changes over time, from the smoking ban, a roaring Celtic Tiger, and a lengthy recession – all of which we navigated our way through in order to keep our doors open and the lights on. I don’t think anybody could have predicted what 2020 could bring.
When we closed our doors on March 15th, something inside me knew this was not going to be plain sailing; then again we have been faced with many trials and tribulations over the years so instead of dwelling on the sadness it brought, we have focused on re establishing ourselves in the hospitality market and have completed a total refurbishment of the premises.
This has been a risk indeed but we feel our customers deserve only the highest quality of comfort and quality and hope that our risks will be rewarded when we begin to welcome our customers back very shortly. We may have changed certain aspects of the building but our warm and welcoming atmosphere will be a constant, and will look forward to seeing you at The Balckthorn with strict adherence to public health guidelines without sacrificing service."

What have we done...??
- We have installed brand new taps in our bar and lounge - enriching the quality and tastes of our beers and lagers. Greater selection of drinks available -
New drinks (wine menu) + draft beer , lagers + cider new taps.
- We have installed 4 new TV's in strategic locations to enhance your comfort and viewing of all major sporting events. These are multi watch specifically for sports multi-watch etc
- We have increased the size of our dance floor for all our party animals and dancers.
- We have created some new enhanced areas of space which our customers should find very appealing.
- We have totally upgraded our lighting system (ie disco lights , ambient lights , bar lights etc) , Full smart lighting system (pub interactive with tv)
+ electricity infrastructure, communication cables, systems which will enhance our sound capabilities - also full plumbing refurbishment.
- Reupholstered/redesigned lounge and bar furniture
- State of the art coffee barista coffee machine
- Upgrade toilets + bathroom facilities
- Expanded outdoor heated seating area .
