It was with a heavy heart we said goodbye to our dear friend Goss in April of this year. Over the last 25 years of business Goss had become a huge part of The Blackthorn family. We cherished his caring and witty personality, and watched him support and entertain all of us over many years.

He was always there to lend a hand to Aggie and Brendan and became a huge part of the Darcy family over the years. The staff were always warmed when graced with his presence and equally felt like Goss was not just a friend but a family member to them also.

The photo below was taken in Summer 2020 where Goss & Brendan spent many hours decorating the pub as they had for years on end while having plenty of laughs and jokes along the way.

He was always a huge support to Aggie when starting out on her journey as a publican, gave plenty of encouragement and reassured her that no mater how big or small he could fix any problem that arose.

​

He was more than a customer, he was a very dear friend to us all. Goss's brother Martin was rarely seen without having "his little brother" by his side and both men as a duo were always a tonic to witness.

Goss you touched our hearts in more ways than you will ever know and for that we thank you for a lifetime of laughter.
